Taking advantage of my practical experience in architectural design and construction, I am continuing my research on architectural design, architectural history, and regional planning based in Tohoku, Miyagi, and Sendai. 天然スレートをめぐる近代建築歴史地理にかんする研究

旧陸前地方北部で産する天然スレートがどのように建築に活かされたのか、地元の民家・集落にどのように普及し、住様式のゆるやかな近代化を支えたのかを明らかにする。

地場の造形と生業景にかんする研究

身近な建造物は、その材料や技術によって地場の造形として地域の特色を有している。その顕著な事例は、住宅よりもむしろ生業にかかる建造物に多い。持続可能で地域振興の核となる地域の生業をはぐくみ、その背景と一体化した生業景の存続について、総合的・実践的に探究する。
