    本論では,1G場での斜面模型の振動実験結果を基に,斜面の安定から不安定に至る挙動の分析,安定限界を超えた後の挙動としてNewmark法の適用性について検討を実施した.対象とした実験には,すべり面が発生する弱層,表層,基盤層の3層構造を有し,高さが1から2m程度の小型,中型斜面模型を用いた.その結果,すべり面は,頂部に引張り亀裂が生じた後,離散的に生じたせん断亀裂が加振とともに進展し,連なることにより形成されることや,正弦波加振に対し,すべり安全率が1.0となる時の降伏加速度と崩壊時の作用加速度が同程度となることが分かった.さらに,Newmark法の適用条件のうち3つの条件が明確な実験について,その推定値が実験値と同程度以下となる傾向は既往の研究と調和し,設計上の留意点であることが分かった.

    To perform seismic evaluation of an underground box-type structure, such as pipe chambers of intake facilities in large-scale power plants with each side wall surrounded by soil, it is important to evaluate the interaction between the structure and the ground and understand the load acting on each member of the structure and the three-dimensional deformation associated with it. In this paper, with the purpose of experimental verification of a research aiming to establish a seismic evaluation method of underground box-type structures, evaluation of applied load and deformation on an underground box-type structure with an opening on lower part of one of its side wall surface is performed by using centrifuge model tests. As a result, increase of the applied load and its convergence situation due to gradual increase of the input motion has been revealed by classifying the load acting on each structural member. Furthermore, deformation mechanisms such as 2 directions planar deformation including torsion and planar complex deformation due to oblique direction input were found by analyzing the interaction between the structure and the ground.

     In this paper, an evaluation method is proposed for determination of planar shear deformation of a shear wall, considering the three-dimensionality, which is a part of an underground box-type structure such as screen chamber and pump chamber of important outdoor civil engineering structures in nuclear power plants. In underground box-type structures, as a result of large-scale ground motion side walls that are perpendicular to the direction of ground motion is pushed by the ground, hence soil pressure acting on the side wall centre is reduced by the deformation (deflection) occurred due to the decrease in the rigidity. On the other hand, acting soil pressure on the side wall end and the shear force acting on the shear wall surface is increased, resulting in in-plane shear fracture of the shear wall, which can lead to cases where critical breakage of the entire structural system occurs. In this case, a method for calculating the limit value of deformation angle (limit deformation angle) is proposed by applying the index of structural member's deformation angle to the damage index of the shear wall of an underground box-type structure, and the validity of this method is verified by utilising it in a seismic evaluation.

    The authors conducted a larger scale shake table test that incorporated soil-structure interaction on reinforced concrete two-box type model structures having overburden depth 3.0m and 1.5m, respectively. Then, the authors corroborated the followings regarding the model structure deformation: 1) Shear force on the upper played a major role on structural deformation among other forces. 2) Maximum relative displacement between upper and lower slabs reached twelve or thirteen times as large as yield relative displacement, showing that the degree structure flexibility was considerably large. 3) Structural deformation was fully controlled by surrounding ground deformation. 4) The model structure experienced flexural failure mode type residual deformation and damage.

    Earthquake damage such as the Great East Japan Earthquake and the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes, and heavy rain damage such as the Torrential rains of August 2014 and the 2018 Japan floods have occurred one after another. In this research, we have newly developed an analysis code that enables performance evaluation of ground and earth structures against such large earthquakes, heavy rains, and their complex events, and the validation of this analysis code was performed through numerical simulations of mechanical and model experiments. Using this analysis code, we evaluated the performance of ground and earth structures against combined external forces of earthquakes and rainfall, and extracted problems / issues in seismic and water resistance.

    In the framework of assessing the safety against liquefaction during earthquakes, bipolar judgment of liquefaction / non-liquefaction has been used in practice so far. In this study, we recognized the degree of liquefaction and studied how to evaluate the liquefaction resistance of the ground. Since the liquefaction damage of the ground can be evaluated based on the amount of deformation remaining after the earthquake, it is clarified how the performance is evaluated depending on the type and density of the soil that composes the ground. Since the results of this research can evaluate the degree of resistance to liquefaction, it can also evaluate the toughness when an external force exceeding the ground motion considered in the seismic design.

    Many important infrastructures in Japan are located on the soft ground, such as Alluvial plain and coastal artificial reclaimed ground where extensive seismic damages are expected to occur. This research tries to reevaluate the seismic resistance of coastal areas in the event of large-scale serial ocean trench earthquakes with a consideration of ground reinforcement technologies. Existing damage prediction methods focus primarily on seismic stability assessment during an earthquake and are inadequate to forecast ongoing long-term ground settlement which inevitably occurs after an earthquake. To use a new numerical technology to evaluate the seismic and post-seismic resistance capabilities of natural and artificial soils in systems, in parallel with the existing methods, it will be responsible not only for a accuracy enhancement but also for preventing oversight of the serious seismic damages.
